Fabienne Jouvin “Bouclier” Cloisonné Enamel Lidded Box

€220.00
Sold

A beautifully crafted cloisonné enamel lidded box in Fabienne Jouvin’s distinctive “Bouclier” pattern — named after the African shields that inspired it. Mosaic tile squares in deep indigo, black and teal band the cylindrical body, with a central frieze of diamond eye motifs in ochre and burgundy. The exposed copper rim and base give it that warm, artisanal finish characteristic of the finest French cloisonné work of the period.

Fabienne Jouvin — a graduate of the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré in Paris — draws her designs from travels across the world, from Tokyo to Havana, translating global craft traditions into her own unmistakable visual language. The Bouclier is one of her most evocative designs, sitting at the intersection of French modernism and world craft.

This piece is unsigned but entirely consistent with her workshop in design, palette and construction. A compact, beautifully weighted object that works on a desk, dressing table, or simply as something very considered to look at.
